My chocolate
pudding made his final vet visit on the 20th December after going
severely downhill with kidney failure. He was nearly 22 months old
Toby was the chocolate surprise in my first successful Cariad litter. I
decided to keep him, purely on the cuteness factor!! He grew into a
huge, squishy handsome chap, and was a regular and well known sight at
shows...he had a bit of a fan club!! He won best stud buck many times,
and won me the stud buck points shield for this year, I was so proud of
him. He was pretty close to being a silver champion as well, but sadly
got too old for shows at 5 stars.
Toby is probably most famous for being the subject of my Christmas Forum
Avatar for the last couple of years...it is truly a work of genius (if
not very flattering for the poor boy) and shows him off at his prime and
at his most pudding-ness!! Look out for it on a rat forum near you
around the festive season!
Sadly, Toby
started looking very old at the end of 2007, and had developed
cataracts, and had lost interest in life. He was PTS eventually, as he
really looked like he'd had enough and needed a rest.
I usually dedicate a very sentimental and sad song to my rats when I
lose them, but I just had to make an exception with Toby, as there was
only one song which really fitted his character and studliness...
