DOB approx 22/01/04

Poor Jez didn't have the best start in life, he was abandoned as part of a huge group of rats outside a monkey sanctuary in April 2004. He was the only Male in a cage full of females, most of whom were pregnant as a result. After the Blue Cross took him in, they found that he didn't get on with other male rats at all, so he either had to be castrated or live alone for the rest of his days. As he was used to living with a large group of females, I decided that I could offer him the perfect home, so I picked him up at the Cardiff show from Alison Mercer, who worked at the Blue Cross at that time. Jerry was very nervous of hands during these early days, probably because he'd been roughly handled before. A few weeks of patient, careful handling and lots of TLC really paid off, and he's now a friendly outgoing boy and loves living with his ladies!!

Jerry was found dead in the bottom of the cage one morning in September, presumably of a heart attack. Sleep Well lovely boy.
