Llewellyn was one of a pair
of lovely Alpha Centauri
boys who I got in the Spring
of last year. He was named
after the mountain, Carnedd
Llewellyn and arrived with
his friend Dafydd, named
after Carnedd Dafydd. The
two boys were so different
in character almost from the
start, Llew was a quiet,
gentle soul, while Daf is a
mad attention seeking
nutcase!
Llewellyn did extremely well
at his first show, and was
placed second in the kitten
challenge at Cardiff 2007.
With his beautiful big eyes
and shiny black fur, who
could resist such a handsome
young man?
He's generally had a quiet
happy existence in my
rattery, pootling about with
his loony friend, and having
cuddles.
Sadly he started to show
signs that all was not well
about a month ago when he
had a funny seizure. He had
also started to lose weight,
so I kept an eye on him, and
he had no more seizures, but
continued to lose weight,
and then developed
cataracts, which was a sure
sign that his kidneys were
starting to fail.
Last night I came in to find
him curled up in the igloo,
not wanting to get out or do
anything other than lie
down. I didn't really expect
him to last the night, but
this morning he was still
hanging in there, so he had
his first and last vet trip
this morning, and slipped
away peacefully in my arms.
Sleep well my brave little
chap, you were so gentle and
sweet, and I'll miss you to
bits.
Find The River - REM
Hey now, little
speedyhead,
The read on the
speedmeter says
You have to go to task
in the city
Where people drown and
people serve.
Dont be shy. your just
deserve
Is only just light years
to go.
Me, my thoughts are
flower strewn
Ocean storm, bayberry
moon.
I have got to leave to
find my way.
Watch the road and
memorize
This life that passed
before my eyes.
Nothing is going my way.
The ocean is the rivers
goal,
A need to leave the
water knows
Were closer now than
light years to go.
I have got to find the
river,
Bergamot and vetiver
Run through my head and
fall away.
Leave the road and
memorize
This life that passed
before my eyes.
Nothing is going my way.
Theres no one left to
take the lead,
But I tell you and you
can see
Were closer now than
light years to go.
Pick up here and chase
the ride.
The river empties to the
tide.
Fall into the ocean.
The river to the ocean
goes,
A fortune for the
undertow.
None of this is going my
way.
There is nothing left to
throw
Of ginger, lemon,
indigo,
Coriander stem and rose
of hay.
Strength and courage
overrides
The privileged and weary
eyes
Of river poet search
naivete.
Pick up here and chase
the ride.
The river empties to the
tide.
All of this is coming
your way.
